Sharapova was born in 1987 to Yuri and Elena, ethnic Russians in Siberia, Russia. Her parents moved from Gomel, Belarus after the Chernobyl nuclear blast in 1986. When Sharapova was two, the family moved to Sochi where her father befriended Aleksandr Kafelnikov, whose son Yevgeny would go on to become a Grand slam champion. Aleksandr gave Sharapova her first tennis racket at the age of four, whereupon she began practicing regularly with her father in a local park.

maria joined professional training at the in Florida, which had previously trained players such as Andre Agassi, monica seles and Anna kourikova Sharapova and her father, neither of whom could speak English, moved to Florida in 1994. Visa restrictions prevented Sharapova's mother from joining them for two years. Sharapova's father took various low-paying jobs, including dish washing, to fund her lessons before she was admitted to the academy. In 1995, she was signed by IMG and finally enrolled in the academy..

HER JOURNEY....

When Sharapova was seven, she and her father moved from their life of poverty in Russia to the United States. After rising rapidly through the junior and professional ranks in the years that followed, Sharapova won her first Grand Slam title at WIMBLEDON in 2004 at the age of 17. In the two years that followed, Sharapova won eight titles on the WTA Tour and had two brief stints as the World No. 1. However, she lost all five Grand Slam semifinals she played during this period. She ultimately won her second Grand Slam title at the 2006 us open.

Worst thing in her career came In 2007 when a right shoulder injury forced Sharapova to withdraw from numerous tournaments; this was partially responsible for her dropping out of the top five on the WTA world rankings for the first time in three years. Although she won her third Grand Slam title at the Australian open in early 2008 and returned to the World No. 1 position later in the year, her shoulder needed surgery in October 2008. Sharapova was away from the sport for ten months until May 2009, which caused her ranking to drop out of the top 100. Since returning, Sharapova's ranking has recovered to within the top 15Sharapova's public profile extends beyond tennis. Sharapova lists fashion, movies, music and reading the Pippi Longstocking series as among her off-court interests, while she has also talked in the past about how she takes hip-hop dance classes.

At the 2004 US open , Sharapova, along with several other Russian female tennis players, wore a black ribbon in observance of the tragedy after the Beslan school crisis, which took place only days before. In 2005, she donated around US $ 50,000 to those affected by the crisis. On February 14, 2007, Sharapova was appointed a Goodwill Ambessader for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and donated US$100,000 to UNDP chenobyl recovery program. Rubens Barrichello is just pissed at his team after the debacle they had in Germany. For all you people who missed it, Brawn GP suffered their first non – podium finish of the 2009 season and guess what, Barrichello wasn’t happy about it one bit.
Although Rubens Barrichello spent most of the season trying to be the man in Brawn GP, what he was doing after the German grand prix wasn’t putting his Brazilian ass in any favorable position with his boss Ross Brawn.
Barrichello literally unloaded on Brawn GP after losing what he thought was a race he could’ve win. In an outburst that plunged to new depths in self pity, Barrichello accused the team of throwing away victory in Sunday’s German GP..

ABOUT RUBENS..

Rubens Gonçalves "Rubinho" BarrichellO is a Brazilian Formula One racing driver. Following the management buy-out of the Honda racing team, with whom Barrichello competed during the 2008 season, he was confirmed for 2009 as Jenson Button's team mate in the new Brawn GP team.
Barrichello drove for Ferrari from 2000 to 2005, as Michael Schumacher's teammate, enjoying considerable success including finishing as championship runner-up in 2002 and 2004. Schumacher's retirement at the end of 2006 made Barrichello the most experienced driver on the grid, and at the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix he became the most experienced driver in F1 history.
As a young, aspiring driver, Barrichello looked up to the late Ayrton Senna, and when he joined Formula One, Senna in return considered him his protégé. As of the 2009 Formula One season Barrichello is the only driver left competing in Formula One to have raced against the likes of Ayrton Senna, making Barrichello the last still-competing driver linked to that era of Formula One....

giancarlo switched to ferrari but can he repeat "success" there...??

Giancarlo Fisichella (born January 14, 1973 in Rome, Italy), also known as Fisico, Giano or Fisi, is an Italian racing driver. He has driven in Formula One for Minardi, Jordan, Benetton, Sauber, Renault, Force India and is currently driving for Ferrari in place of the injured Felipe Massa. He will also be Ferrari's reserve driver for 2010.

Giancarlo will drive for Ferrari in his home Grand Prix at Monza next weekend, the team has confirmed.

He will be the first Italian to drive for Ferrari in his home Grand Prix at Monza since Ivan Capelli in 1992.
Nicola Larini finished second for Ferrari in the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola in Italy in 1994.
Fisichella’s seat at Force India is expected to be taken by Vitantonio Liuzzi.
Force India boss Vijay Mallya had denied the rumours earlier this week, even when team member Ian Phillips confirmed them to the BBC on Monday.
The last Italian to win the Italian Grand Prix was Ludovico Scarfiotti in 1966, driving for Ferrari. Can Fisichella become the first driver to emulate his feat in 43 years?
